Rockcastle County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

The Rockcastle County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship supports Rockcastle County students in their pursuit of a higher education. The Chamber has established a special fund that will provide an annual scholarship award of $1,000.00 to a local student. Recognizing that our young people are the county’s most important investment, the Rockcastle County Chamber of Commerce established the scholarship in 2007. The Chamber is especially interested in students who plan to return to Rockcastle County as our future business leaders.

The Chamber invites any 2010 graduate of Rockcastle County High School to submit a Scholarship Application. The Rockcastle County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Committee will implement the application and selection process.

This application will not be considered complete without the following attachments:

1. High school transcript.

2. Two (2) letters of reference from someone other than a family member; preferably one educational reference and one from someone in your community. Letters must include the contact telephone number of the individual writing the letter.

3. Short essay of no more than one page (single spaced) for each question below:

a. “A local business is struggling (you pick your business).  As an advisor, help the business come up with a plan (advertising, marketing, etc.) to help the business become more profitable.”

b. “Create a scenario where you must convince a prospective business OR family to move into Rockcastle County.  This should include what makes Rockcastle more appealing than the other surrounding counties.”
