    Chamber Scholarship Awarded

On Tuesday, May 19th, the Rockcastle County Chamber of Commerce awarded its annual scholarship to Rachel Woodall, daughter of Harold and Mary Woodall of Brodhead. Rachel is a current senior at Rockcastle County High School. She plans to attend Georgetown College and major in pre-pharmacy. She is active in Student YMCA, Health Occupation Students of America, National Honor Society, Beta Club, Piano, Key Club, French Club, Class Officer/Student Council, Rocket Club and Golf Team.

As part of the application process, Rachel wrote an essay detailing the creation of a Rockcastle County Community Center and adjoining Arboretum which would include walking trails, recreational areas and an outdoor amphitheater.

The Rockcastle County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship supports Rockcastle County students in their pursuit of a higher education. Recognizing that our young people are the county’s most important investment, the Rockcastle County Chamber of Commerce established the scholarship in 2007.
